Eric D. Isaacs is the 11th president of the Carnegie Institution for Science, a prestigious research organization in Washington, D.C. In this role, he leads pioneering research in plant biology, developmental biology, Earth and planetary sciences, astronomy, and global ecology. Previously, Dr. Isaacs was the Robert A. Millikan Distinguished Service Professor in Physics and Executive Vice President for Research, Innovation, and National Laboratories at the University of Chicago, where he oversaw Argonne and Fermilab for the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Science. Dr. Isaacs has also served as Provost at the University of Chicago, enhancing the university’s capabilities in applied sciences, engineering, and social sciences. His career began as a postdoctoral fellow at Bell Laboratories, where he researched magnetism and electronic systems. Dr. Isaacs holds a Ph.D. in physics from MIT and a bachelor's degree from Beloit College. He is a fellow of the American Physical Society and the National Academy of Inventors, with over 100 scholarly publications to his name.

Maria Meirelles holds a Diploma in Physics from the State University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, obtained in 1992. She pursued her Master's degree in Geophysics with a focus on Meteorology at the University of Lisbon, Portugal, graduating in 1997. In 2009, she completed her Ph.D. in Physics at the University of the Azores, Portugal. Her teaching activities encompass a wide range of subjects including meteorology, atmospheric science, climatology, general physics, and geophysics for undergraduate and master's level studies. She has supervised numerous students in both internship and thesis work. She has actively participated in several scientific conferences and has contributed to various research articles and book chapters. Additionally, she collaborates with publishers in reviewing scientific articles. She is an En_Roads Climate and Climate Change Ambassador for the North Atlantic region

Helena Cristina Vasconcelos is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of the Azores in Portugal. She has an extensive academic background, including a 5-year bachelor’s degree in Physics and Materials Engineering obtained in 1990 and a PhD in Materials Engineering completed in 1999. As a research member of the Laboratory for Instrumentation, Biomedical Engineering, and Radiation Physics (LIBPhys), Helena's research interests primarily focus on optical materials, fluorescence, and photonics. Recently, she has also developed an interest in multivariate data analysis techniques and correlation studies involving meteorological parameters. Her expertise in these areas has resulted in numerous publications in reputable journals and conferences.
